So, here I am, sitting in my apartment in Brooklyn writing my first blog page. It's so humid outside and I'm too lazy to get up and turn on the damn AC. My face is so greasy, my hair is sticking to my cheeks. If I put a brown paper towel on my face-- those scratchy ones you find in gas station bathrooms-- and blotted the oil from my face it would look like the Christ/Shroud of Turin... or the Shroud of Brook-lin.
I'm not going to write too much tonight, since it's near midnight and my kids will probably be waking up at 5:30 AM and demanding my near-limitless servitude, so I need some shut-eye to build up my psychic reserve. I do want to say that I'm very excited to start writing again. I've decided to focus (for the most part) on what it's like to live in Brooklyn when you're not the top 1% and dream about buying a home in a city that is so freakin' unaffordable. This blog will hopefully include memories (pix, etc.) of my childhood in Brooklyn and the Brooklyn I live in now-- the nearly untouchable, unrecognizable city of the present moment.
Okay... I bid thee farewell! I will continue tomorrow. Thank you for reading this, if you did, and hope to hear from you soon. More later...
